Steak Seasoning: You can use a steak seasoning such as Montreal steak seasoning or any seasoning of choice that you prefer.
Ranch Seasoning Powder: Ranch seasoning powder/dressing mix is optional but it adds additional depth of flavor. Give it a try for sure!
Oil: Any oil of choice such as olive oil or vegetable oil. This will add an extra crust to your meat. You can cook without oil if you choose.
Air Fryer Safe Cooking Spray: Optional.
How to cook chuck roast in air fryer
Optional: Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Cooking spray helps sticking if you are cooking a larger batch.
Slice chuck roast into thin strips (about ¼ inch strip thickness).
Place chuck roast strips into small bowl and combine with oil and seasonings of choice. Mix well until chuck roast is thoroughly coated.
Preheat air fryer to 400°F
Place chuck roast strips in fryer basket. Do not overfill basket. One even layer is recommended.
Cook on 400°F for approximately 4 minutes.
Depending on your air fryer, the size of your fryer basket and amount of chuck roast strips in the basket, you can shake the basket and cook for an additional 1 minute until you reach your desired level of doneness as needed.
Pre-Heating Air Fryer: I recommend pre-heating air fryer. However, if you choose not to pre-heat, add about 3-4 minutes to your cook time.
Check for doneness at the end of your cook time and add additional cook time as needed until your chuck roast strips reach desired level of doneness.
This recipe works well with any brand of air fryer including Ninja Foodi, Gourmia, Vortex, Nuwave, Cuisinart, Cosori, Power XL and Power Air.

For this air fryer chuck roast recipe, I recommend thin strips because they are well seasoned and cook very quickly. You want to be careful about cooking a chuck roast air fryer style if you are cooking it whole as it can produce alot of liquid.

Many chuck roast recipes call for anywhere from 2 to 6 hours of cooking. That could run the risk of overheating your air fryer.
