    Ingredients

    • Top Sirloin Steak: Two 8 oz beef top sirloin steaks from your local butcher or grocery store. About 1 inch thick is ideal.
    • Seasoning of Choice: I recommend steak seasoning and ranch seasoning powder (optional)
    • Oil of Choice
    • Optional: Air Fryer Safe Cooking Spray

How to cook top sirloin steak in the air fryer

    1. Optional: Lightly spray air fryer basket with cooking spray. Cooking spray helps sticking if you are cooking a larger batch.
    2. Drizzle top sirloin steaks with oil and sprinkle with seasonings of choice.
    3. Preheat air fryer to 400°F
    4. Place top sirloin steaks in air fryer basket.
    5. Cook on 400°F for approximately 6-10 minutes (flipping halfway). Use temperature probe to monitor internal temperature of steak (see notes for temperature and doneness guide).
    6. Depending on your air fryer, the size of your fryer basket and size/thickness of top sirloin steaks, you can cook for an additional 1 minute until you reach your desired level of doneness as needed.

    Top Sirloin Steak Temperature Guide

    • Rare: 125°F (remove at 120°F and rest 5 minutes)
    • Medium-Rare: 135°F (remove at 130°F and rest 5 minutes)
    • Medium: 145°F (remove at 140°F and rest 5 minutes)
    • Medium Well: 155°F (remove at 150°F and rest 5 minutes)
    • Well: 160°F (remove at 155°F and rest 5 minutes)

Pre-Heating Air Fryer: I recommend pre-heating air fryer. However, if you choose not to pre-heat, add about 3-4 minutes to your cook time.

Check for doneness at the end of your cook time and add additional cook time as needed until your top sirloin steaks reach desired level of doneness.

This recipe works well with any brand of air fryer including Ninja Foodi, Gourmia, Vortex, Nuwave, Cuisinart, Cosori, Power XL and Power Air.

Top 5 tips for cooking steak in the air fryer

Preheat Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi: Preheating your air fryer will help you achieve the best results. This helps the air fryer reach the correct temperature and will help your steak cook evenly.

Meat Thermometer: To make sure your steak is cooked to your desired level of doneness, use a meat thermometer! Every steak is different and this is the way to perfection!

Let Steak Rest! After you’ve cooked your steak in the air fryer, chill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing. I know it’s hard but this allows the juices to settle so they don’t leak out everywhere.

Season the Steak: No one wants a boring steak. Salt and pepper are a good start but don’t be afraid to play with different spices and herbs to give your steak even more flavor.

Don’t Overcrowd the Air Fryer Basket: The key to the air fryer is air flow around the food. To ensure that your top sirloin steak cooks evenly, it’s important not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook in batches. Quality folks!
