Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers

Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers are the perfect appetizer to start off any dinner party! Ready in less than 10 minutes and super delicious!

Ingredients

  • 5 medium jalapeños
  • 10 slices regular or thick cut bacon
  • 1.5 ounces cheddar (shredded or block, cut in small squares)
  • 5 ounces cream cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 350°F.
  • In small frying pan, render bacon on low/medium heat for 1-2 minutes. Thick cut bacon, approximately 3 minutes. You want to cook some of the fat out of the bacon. This will help the bacon crisp up in the air fryer when cooking the jalapeno poppers. If you prefer to use the air fryer to render your bacon, cook bacon for about 3 minures on 350°F. (preheated).
  • Cut of top of jalapenos and slice lengthwise. Remove core and seeds.
  • Mix cream cheese and cheddar cheese.
  • Add any optional seasonings (see notes for suggestions) to cheese mixture.
  • Stuff jalapenos with cream cheese and cheddar cheese mixture.
  • Wrap each stuffed jalapeno popper with a slice of rendered bacon. Use toothpicks to secure the bacon. NOTE: Be sure to use air fryer/oven safe toothpicks.
  • Cook stuffed jalapeno poppers for 5-7 minutes on 350°F.
  • Depending on your air fryer, the size of your fryer basket and amount of jalapeno poppers in the basket, you can cook for an additional 1-2 minutes on 370°F until you reach your desired level of crispiness.

Notes

Air Fryer Jalapeno Popper Seasoning and Sauce Ideas:
  • Add spices such as salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, onion powder or garlic powder.
  • Add lemon or lime zest.
  • Add honey, maple syrup or jam (raspberry jam) for a sweet and savory combo.
  • Dip in a raspberry chipotle sauce.
Pre-Heating Air Fryer: I recommend pre-heating air fryer. However, if you choose not to pre-heat, add about 3-4 minutes to your cook time. 
This recipe works well with any brand of air fryer including Ninja Foodi, Gourmia, Vortex, Nuwave, Cuisinart, Cosori, Power XL and Power Air.
